Life today is all about look, right? Though we all know there is more to life than just what we see. Although obese fat people is a less fashionable look it is unhealthy for all emotional and psychological reasons, for any person on a personal level. Obesity sadly goes much deeper than the “fat look” or an individual clinical condition. People often have a misconception of obesity. It has in fact become more than what it looks like! Obesity is a disease, an epdemic spreading fast across emerging economies, technological advanced and the industrialized world. Being obese is increasingly being viewed as a serious health problem. How do you recognize being obese? Obesity is more than just a cosmetic concern, serious health problems is the greatest risk you will have to face. In cognition with your length, weight and BMI measuring, women going beyond size 36 and men going beyond size 40 must be alert to possibly developing obesity. Physicians warn that people should constantly be made aware of obesity. What does the word obesity really imply? BMI (body mass index), was developed by the Belgian statistician and anthropometrist Adolphe Quetelet in 1840. Which means that a person’s height and weight is measured. These numbers are then used to calculate another number, the BMI. It is calculated by dividing a persons weight in kilograms by the square of a persons height in meters (BMI = kg/m2). BMI serves to show the amount of fat stored on the body. The higher your BMI is, the worst is your exposure to certain diseases. The agreed table established in 1997 (published in 2000) and currently in use:
Obesity is only made possible when the energy intake exceeds energy expenditure by more than it does for individuals of "normal weight". When food intake (which is energy for the body), exceeds the use or expenditure of that energy. Cells throughout the body take in the energy and store it (to a lesser extent muscle and liver cells). These cells become obese cells becoming in turn an obese body. In its simplest form it comes to eating to much and moving to little. People gain weight when the body takes in more calories than it burns off. People who become obese usually have been getting more calories than they need for years. Overeating is the dominant cause of obesity. Factors which contribute to developing obesity, are:
Various diseases! Particularly cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus type 2, sleep apnea, and osteoarthritis. High cholesterol brought by eating too much wrong food impair the proper functioning of your heart and blood vessels as well as lack of activity. High blood pressure, strokes and other blood and heart
conditions over time result in this outcome. Excessive body weight puts
strain on joints and bones. Sustaining more and more weight, leads to
arthritis in the long run. Excess weight often also leads to apnea. This
is the cessation, pause, interruption or temporary suspension of breathing
during sleep. It can result in permanent discontinuation of breathing
during sleep. The key to avoid this is to maintain a healthy weight with good eating habits and regular exercise. Start making conscious healthy choices! Become aware of what you have to do and what not. Its like becoming accountable for right and wrong where it concerns your health and after all your look. If you don’t care you know
you are in denial because as long as we breath we do care. Rather be
accountable for your choices than being accountable for results of trauma.
Sorry, most often comes to late? The internet, books and magazines all
provide many suggestions to alter habits. Do your own research and choose
what suites you. It does not mean you have to become a health junky because
that can also be going over the top. The decision with action is only
for you to grasp or to clarify for yourself. Firstly don't
starve yourself because you won't get the nutrients you need for living
energy. Find someone you can trust to talk to, a doctor, a parent, or
a registered dietitian. Ask for help, don’t deny your problem.
Its like the example of an alcoholic, as long as there is denial and
excuses they can’t be helped. Face the truth, accept it and then
commit yourself to healthy actions. There is no mistake in being who you are. Find what agrees
with you! Because you can! Above all, surround yourself with friends
and family who will be there for you and help you tackle these important
changes in your life (those who value and believe in you! Cut out those
who don’t!).
Often people with the same problems take each other down instead of helping
each other up. Find the wisdom before you choose. Contemplation and research
helps understanding all of this. Proactol is an clinically tested product to help with obesity. Read more |
